Conch Piercing Jewelry

Conch Piercing?

I’m looking into getting a conch piercing and wanted some info.

There are no good piercers around here so I was wondering if you could acutally do anything like that at home. I only have two ear piercings and don’t know much about it. Also, wondering what kind of jewelry has to go in it and how it’s actually done.

Thanks in advance!

This is a pretty serious piercing and definitely not something that I would recommend you do at home. I haven’t got it done but I did look into it for a while and decided against it. I’ve heard a lot of stories where it takes far longer to heal than any other cartilage piercing and just continues to be painful for a really long time. After all the crap I’ve been through in the past few months with my rook piercing I’m not ready for anymore pain! It’s also going to be more painful than most other cartilage piercings as that’s such a thick area of your ear. The jewellery to put in it would be a captive bead ring (a.k.a CBR) which allows for better healing than a stud as you can twist it through and clean much better.
Seriously, do not do this at home. If you do you’d better be pretty damn careful with that ear for at least 6 months, I’ve had all of mine done professionally and my rook is still painful since Nov 17th! Can’t sleep on it and if I bang it you’re sure to hear a curse word from me. Look into going to a professional elsewhere and maybe into a different piercing. I most definitely recommend tragus, mine healed beautifully and I love it. Was my favourite before I got my tongue done! Good luck with whatever you decide, just be careful!
